Strategic Human Resources Development

The department of strategic human resources development is responsible for supporting the implementation of JGU’s university strategy.

In order to do so, the HR development at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) takes into account the strategic challenges the university has to face on the one hand, and the needs of the different employment groups at JGU on the other hand. This way, numerous measures are taken and offers made to all kinds of target groups, in particular within the context of research. Over the past years, JGU has focused on developing a JGU-specific leadership culture. Based thereon, JGU also focused on targeted development measures for leaders in research, research management and administration. This course of action has become known as „JGU-Leadership“.

Moreover, the people who carry out interface functions are at the centre of JGU’s strategic human resources development, for instance faculty or institute directors, but also course or examination managers.
