Internal University Funding

Printing costs grants in the humanities and social sciences (PDF in German only)
Within the framework of the Internal University Research Funding, researchers can apply for a printing costs grant in the amount of up to EUR 2.500 for edited volumes in which the results of third party funded projects are published. Contact: Internal University Research Funding.

(Open Access) Publications fund (UB)
Service fees for Open Access publications can be covered by the publications fund of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) and the University Medical Center of JGU under certain conditions. Young researchers are prioritized.

Proofreading Service
Within the framework of the Internal University Research Funding proofreading grants for English texts can be applied for. For each assignment the applicant must contribute EUR 100 him- or herself. The maximum amount of the grant is EUR 2.000 (after deduction of the applicant’s contribution).

Geschwister Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation for the Humanities (in German only)
The Foundation only offers printing costs grants for academic works in the humanities and the German-speaking cultural area in the broadest sense. Proceedings of conferences or edited volumes are only supported where a common subject matter is dealt with and new findings are published.
